Aalsmeer, the Netherlands – SCREEN Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Tornelli as EMEA CTP Sales Manager, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its leading Computer-to-Plate (CTP) technology and dealer network across the EMEA region. 

With over 16 years of experience in the automotive and healthcare industries, Marco has a strong background in dealer relations, having worked across Latin America managing distribution networks, developing incentive programs, and aligning sales partners with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) goals. He built a reputation for creating commercially successful partnerships that boosted regional sales and long-term engagement. 

Supporting Growth and Partnerships 

In his transition to the print industry, Marco brings with him a strategic mindset rooted in collaboration and coordination. These systems are equipped with high-output fiber laser diode exposure heads, enabling outstanding productivity of up to 32 plates per hour as well as superior cost performance and energy savings. The midrange PlateRite 8600NII models will complement SCREEN’s flagship PlateRite 8900HDN models which can image up to 70 plates per hour.

All PlateRite 8600NII models feature the latest fiber laser diode exposure heads. These heads work with SCREEN’s proprietary clamp technologies and auto-balance mechanism to enable stable, high-speed exposure with top quality. The lineup includes the Z, S and E models, allowing printing companies to choose the right model for their production requirements.

The Z model is equipped with 96 channel exposure heads, supporting output of up to 32 plates per hour. The S and E models have 64 and 32 channel heads respectively, for outputs of 24 and 14 plates per hour. All systems are capable of handling plate sizes ranging from as large as 1,160 x 940 mm (45.6″ x 37″) to, when fitted with the small size option, as small as 304 x 370 mm (12″ x 14.6″).

In addition, all models feature major functionality improvements such as a power-saving mode that reduces energy consumption during idling, producing energy savings of around 60% during operation and 73% during standby.

(SCREEN GA) has finalised development of its new PlateRite Ultima 16000N series of thermal plate recorders for plate sizes including up to 16 A4 pages. The highly anticipated lineup of multi-format CtP systems offers industry-leading productivity, operability and energy efficiency. The series will be released in both Japan and the international market in September.

As consumer preferences have continued to diversify in recent years, the printing industry has sought to introduce increasingly advanced large size presses that can provide greater efficiency in handling small lot, short turnaround work. This trend has also expanded worldwide shipments of larger models within SCREEN GA’s PlateRite series of thermal CtP systems. Sales of these systems have helped the series claim the number one position in the global market.

Seeking to more closely target industry needs, SCREEN GA has now developed its PlateRite Ultima 16000N series of thermal plate recorders. These ground-breaking systems are capable of handling plates with up to 16 A4 pages while delivering greatly improved productivity, operability and energy efficiency. Three models, the Z, S and E, are available to meet specific requirements.

All systems are equipped with the latest GLVTM imaging heads, creating major improvements in the optical system. The heads produce significantly more uniform light distribution while a high-precision auto-focus mechanism allows the output of SCREEN’s proprietary Spekta 2 hybrid screening and Randot X 20 (20 μm) FM screening.

The Z model features a 1,024 channel head that allows the production of an impressive 42 plates2 per hour. A single system is able to handle plates including from four to 16 A4 pages. The S and E models are fitted with 512 channel heads, with respective throughputs of up to 29 and 17 plates per hour. All systems support plate sizes of up to 1,470 x 1,180 mm (57.8″ x 46.4″). Installation of the series’ small size option also enables each one to process plates right down to 450 x 370 mm (17.8″ x 14.6″).

In addition, each of the models supports SCREEN GA’s MA-L16000N II multi-cassette autoloader system, allowing a total of up to 450 plates3 to be supplied automatically. The MA-L16000N II dramatically extends the length of continuous operation, helping to boost press operating ratios and productivity while improving ease of use.

Energy use during operation is now reduced by up to 55%4, thanks to features such as a power-saving mode that cuts consumption during idling. Energy use during standby is reduced by up to 83%4. SCREEN GA is also in the process of finalising arrangements that will make it possible for users to monitor all three models remotely via the company’s TRUST Network Service. This cutting-edge online maintenance support package will ensure the CtP systems remain in optimal condition at all times (planned service).

Following the release of its new PlateRite Ultima 16000N series, SCREEN GA intends to continue fulfilling its responsibilities as a leading company in the global CtP market. This includes providing its customers with products that deliver high added value and support services that ensure reliable operation. Kyoto, Japan – SCREEN Graphic and Precision Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GP) will show its new PlateRite HD 8900N series at drupa 2016 (Dusseldorf, May 31 – June 10). These eight-page platesetters promise class-leading productivity for thermal computer-to-plate (CtP) production and will be released to the global market after the show.

Over the last few years, offset printing has been increasingly expected to handle a wider range of small volume jobs with shorter turnaround times. This has created a growing need for CtP systems to deliver higher productivity and output than ever before.  In response to this requirement, SCREEN GP has developed its new PlateRite HD 8900N lineup. The range builds on the exceptional productivity, quality and performance offered by SCREEN GP’s flagship PlateRite HD 8900 series, which has itself been repeatedly upgraded since its launch in 2011.

The new lineup includes the Z, S and E models, with each type designed to meet specific needs. The high-end Z model features a 1,024 channel imaging head that helps it to improve output from 67 to 70 plates per hour. The S and E models are equipped with 512 channel imaging heads and are capable of producing 48 and 36 plates per hour, respectively. For the S model, this represents an increase of more than 10 percent compared to the current throughput.

The series also accommodates a wide variety of plate sizes, ranging from 304 x 305 mm up to a maximum 1,165 x 950 mm. The optional MA-L8900 and SA-L8900 autoloader feature automatic plate supply,*1 significantly improves efficiency and allows each model to operate continuously for extended periods.

Improvements enabled by the latest GLVTM imaging heads support output using SCREEN GP’s unique Spekta 2 hybrid screening as well as Randot X FM screening. The high-resolution S and E models also support ultrafine AM screening of up to 700 lpi, enabling the printing of fine art materials with outstanding quality. In addition, combining a resolution of 4,000 or 4,800 dpi *2 with step imaging mode *3 allows the output of 3D or other high-grade lenticular printing.

In terms of environmental impact, the Z model dramatically reduces energy consumption during operation by up to 43 percent3 per plate. This, and a variety of other features, considerably strengthen the series’ overall environmental friendliness. SCREEN GP anticipates the release of the new PlateRite HD 8900N series will make an important contribution to the continuing growth of the printing industry.
